David Pirrò

David Pirrò is a researcher, sound and video artist. Since 2007 he is University Assistant at KUG’s Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) in Graz where he collaborates in various artistic and scientific research projects. In parallel he is carrying out his dissertation thesis with Gerhard Eckel on interaction design in computer music performance.
As member of the project team of The Choreography of Sound, David collaborates in the conception and development of the software framework and contributes to the ongoing aesthetic discourse in the team by composing and experimenting with physics-based sound synthesis and spatialization models. He will be involved in the research and implementation of interaction design approaches linking bodily movement to sound spatialization, which will be a central theme in the second part of the project.
